Measurement of fuel rods

Fuel 3D is our new product for individual fuel cartridge measurement. The innovation consists of a new camera and laser-based product for measuring the cartridge shapes. The method offers great improvements compared to existing alternatives. Parameters, such as straightness, length, shear etc., are very important for the integrity of the safety systems. For example, two crooked fuel cartridges can obstruct a control rod to slide freely up and down. The increased power output leads to modified fuel tanks, which in turn lead to expanded control requirements.

Together with a customer, we have developed a product that, unlike yesterday’s solutions, will measure all parameters very carefully and, above all, measure during transport.
